How she can help

Have you ever left a therapy session feeling like there were things you just couldn’t quite put into words? You’re not alone, and that’s where art therapy can offer something different!

Art therapy invites you to explore your thoughts and emotions through creative expression, using materials like drawing, painting, or collage (to name just a few) as a way to communicate what might feel hard to say out loud. Instead of relying only on conversation, it opens up another pathway, one that can feel more natural, intuitive, and even relieving.

Because art-making engages different parts of the brain than traditional talk therapy, it can help access emotions and experiences that aren’t always easy to reach through words alone. This can be especially powerful for processing complex feelings, reducing stress, and gaining new insight into your inner world.

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Art therapy offers a more flexible, inclusive approach, meeting you where you are and giving you options in how you express yourself. For many people, it becomes not just a tool for healing, but a space for curiosity, self-discovery, and meaningful connection!

Get to know

When I’m not at work, I spend a lot of time running, hiking, reading, painting, and watching reality tv/horror movies with my friends or my cat, Bean! I like to think of reality tv as a study in social/cultural anthropology, it really can teach us a lot ;)

I am the middle child of four kids (the four seasons!) and am no stranger to the complexities of family relationships/dynamics, which helps a lot as a therapist. I also have lots of lived experience in the mental health field and know how it feels to be the client as well as the therapist.

I started painting as a hobby and found that there was a certain catharsis in creating things without having to use words to explain them. It felt super validating to physically see my emotions on the canvas in front of me, so I combined my hobby with my chosen field (psychology) to become an art therapist!
